Security
Your vault holds your EIN letter and W-9, your state tax numbers, and your signature on each resale certificate. This is how Rae looks after them, and what it doesn’t do.

What Rae stores, and what it never does
Your studio’s vault
- What Rae stores
- The documents you upload, filed under your studio in storage no other studio can reach, with their earlier versions.
- What Rae never does
- Lets anyone outside your studio open them. Only someone signed in to your studio can open or download a document.
Encryption and sign-in
- What Rae stores
- Documents are stored in Amazon S3 with server-side encryption, and Rae is served only over HTTPS, so they’re encrypted on their way to you too.
- What Rae never does
- Sees or stores your password. Sign-in is handled by Clerk.
Only your studio
- What Rae stores
- Everything you add, filed under your studio.
- What Rae never does
- Shows your files to another studio. Which studio you’re in comes from your sign-in, so changing a link can’t open someone else’s documents.
Reading your documents
- What Rae stores
- Only the dates you type in. Document reading isn’t turned on, so nothing leaves Rae to be read.
- What Rae never does
- Sends your documents away to be read. You type the dates from each upload yourself.
Audit trail
- What Rae stores
- Each change, with who made it and when: an upload, a confirmed date, an approval, a renewal marked as sent or confirmed, a change to your settings.
- What Rae never does
- Acts without leaving a record. When something happens on its own, such as a reminder, the log says it was Rae.
Export or delete
- What Rae stores
- Everything, until you close your account. Export it at any time: your vault as a zip, with your vendors, tasks and settings alongside. Close your account and your studio is shut at once, then erased 30 days later.
- What Rae never does
- Sells your data or shows you advertising. And it sends nothing to your vendors: you send each renewal yourself.
Your email
Inbox reading Not live yet
- What Rae stores
- Nothing from your mailbox. Each renewal email is a draft you send from your mail app.
- What Rae never does
- Reads, searches or deletes your mail. Rae doesn’t connect to your mailbox. When inbox reading arrives, it stays off until you turn it on.
